Louis Hachette Group brings together Lagardère and Prisma Media to form a highly diversified actor and leader in publishing, travel retail and media.

Publishing

Lagardère Publishing, operating mainly under the Hachette Livre brand founded in 1826, is the world’s third-largest consumer publishing group in the trade and education markets and number one in France. Present directly or indirectly in more than 70 countries, it runs its book publishing and distribution business through its integrated and iconic publishing houses, with strong brand names and extensive IP portfolio, and its distribution platforms in each of the main countries where it operates (France, Spain, the UK and the USA). Lagardère Publishing’s renowned publishing houses support its global reputation. These include Grasset, Fayard, Stock, Calmann-Lévy, JC Lattès, Hachette Pratique, Marabout, Larousse, Dunod, Orion, Quercus, Orbit, Hodder & Stoughton, Grand Central Publishing, Little, Brown and Company, and Alianza.

Through its 7,600 employees and more than 200 publishing brands, Lagardère Publishing annually releases over 15,000 new titles in a dozen languages, with a strong presence in the three major linguistic markets (English, Spanish, and French). It boasts a well-balanced and diversified portfolio covering all major consumer publishing segments, including textbooks and extracurricular works, literature, illustrated books, partworks, dictionaries, children and young adult titles, paperbacks, travel guides and more.

Travel Retail

Lagardère Travel Retail is the world’s third-largest Travel Retail operator and leader in France. With 22,600 employees in more than 40 countries on five continents, Lagardère Travel Retail has a network comprising more than 5,120 points of sale offering a full-service proposition through its three business lines (Travel Essentials, Duty Free & Fashion and Dining) to national and international travelers passing through more than 290 airports and 700 rail and urban transport stations around the world.

Its network includes proprietary brands with an international dimension (Relay, Discover, Tech2go, Inmedio, 1 Minute, Hubiz, Hub Convenience, Aelia Duty Free, The Fashion Gallery, The Fashion Place, Eye Love, So Chocolate, Bread&Co., So Coffee, Trib’s, Vino Volo, Natoo, FIX, Beercode, Marché, etc.) or a strong local identity (Casa del Gusto, The Belgian Chocolate House, Sawa, Icons, etc.), It also has franchise or license arrangements (Hermès, Lego, TripAdvisor, Fnac, iStore, Marks & Spencer, Longchamp, Burger King, Costa Coffee, Paul, Eat, Live & Nourish (EL&N), Panda Express, Pierre Hermé, Éric Kayser, etc.).

Media

Prisma Media is France’s leading magazine publisher and online media company, reaching nearly 40 million people every month via its various platforms.
Present on the primary mainstream and luxury segments, the group has a strong portfolio of 40 iconic brands including Télé Loisirs Femme Actuelle, Voici, Capital, GEO and Harper’s Bazaar. In 2023, Prisma Media sold over 130 million magazines (representing roughly 1 in 3 magazines sold in France). It generates 1/3 of its total revenue from digital.

Lagardère News Lagardère News comprises two press titles (Le Journal du Dimanche and JDNews) and licensing management for the Elle brand.

Lagardère Radio regroups Europe 1, the French music radio networks (Europe 2 and RFM), and an advertising sales brokerage.

Louis Hachette Group operates additional business lines in the entertainment sector with Lagardère Live Entertainment (venue management, concert production, hosting and local promotional services) and sports club Lagardère Paris Racing.
